Which Miele vacuum should one buy?

Hylax would appreciate any useful suggestions for a vacuum cleaner and as ever, the good people of moneysavingexpert.com are quick to leap in to provide the answers.

Devotee thinks the Cat & Dog is a good choice, and is “very happy with Miele”, while a friend of lucy120 is happy to recommend “the Miele S5981 Capricorn Vacuum W/SEB-236 Electric Power Head”. Lindens meanwhile has “just bought a Miele and it’s great as I have 2 cats and we both have allergies.”
