The Miele S7 trial

Last summer we sent a Miele S7 on trial around a few homes of bloggers eager to test its credentials.

The model we sent out was the S7580 AutoCare HEPA Upright Vacuum Cleaner. The AutoCare Hepa actually vacuumed over two miles of carpet during its trip. Which we didn’t thing was bad going at all. Below are a selection of the guys who were incvolved with the trial.

LaundryBasketCase with the S7, headlights and all!

While with LaundryBasketCase the S7 got a full and thorough reviewing and it came out the other side looking good,

“Yes, I was well chuffed with how well the Miele performed. I felt it sucked up all the dog hairs, human hairs, bits of garden soil, and dog biscuit crumbs in a jiffy.”

The Dotteral though decided it wasn’t for him, due mainly to the weight of it and the ‘jet-engine’ noise it produced when starting up, but was happy to say,

“[…] it certainly does the job.”

Finally we have Backwards in High Heels, who had make sure that her mum didn’t steal the S7, so happy was she with the ease of which the vacuum could be driven. There’s a video of the action here.

We’re looking to do more trials throughout 2010 on a variety of Miele products, but we’d really like to hear from you on what they should be. Do you want another vacuum, a Cat and Dog maybe? If you’ve got an idea or would like to be involved get in touch through email or leave us a comment below.

DustFluffGrit meets the Miele Hybrid S4812

DustFluffGrit got to meet the Miele Hybrid S4812 at Miele’s new London gallery,

“Based on the design of their mid-range S4 canister, it’s the first cleaner to utilise Miele’s patented new ‘Hybrid’ technology, which allows the user to vacuum with the cleaner in either corded or cordless modes.”

In his post, EXCLUSIVE: Miele Hybrid S4812 and Eco Line S4212, he goes into all the details you’d want to know – from the lithium-ion batteries to how it coped with the pick-up assault course that had been set over a small set of carpeted stairs and featured among other debris, drawing pins, beads, porridge oats and cotton wool.

DustFluffGrit’s first impressions are positive, but he is looking forward to getting a trial version to really see what the hybrid is capable of. For now though,

“The Hybrid technology offers much more power, runtime and reach than a traditional hand-held cleaner, although obviously, it’s not as compact or lightweight, either! It’s one of those great ideas that begs the question, ‘why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?!’”

As you can tell from the title of the post there is also some investigation into the S4 Eco Line, which will only use 1300w of power, but has the same level of ‘pick-up power’ as a 2200w model.

Customer review of the Miele S5211 vacuum

At Amazon Mr. H. E. Marsh “Maxx Sylvester” has left a customer review on the Miele S5211 cylinder cleaner.

He’s given his ‘Deep Black’ model five out of five stars as have two other Amazon members. It seems that the features that prompt this customer satisfaction are its power and convenience,

“It has a powerful suction so you can vary it to suit the task whereas with previous cleaners you had to always use the highest setting. Easy to store -never had an upright because of the storage issue, which can be critical if space is limited.”

To read the other two reviews head to the S5211 customer review page at Amazon.

Big Rog loves his s7260

Big Rog has given the Miele s7260 a positive review on the Amazon customer reviews page. Rog believes that the Miele s7260 Autumn Red 1800W Cat & Dog upright vacuum cleaner (to give it it’s full name) is a superb bit of kit,

“Excellent design, easy to steer, fantastic cleaning pick up, keeps dust in machine and does not spray it around…”

Although giving the upright five stars of approval he does mention that despite a well balanced carrying handle the vacuum is still heavy, and that without pets he can’t vouch for the ‘Cat & Dog’ credentials. However, this isn’t enough to stop him asking,

“Why are other cleaners not this good?”

Miele vaccuum cleaners run-down

Spiderpig over on DigitalSpy is appealing for help in his search to find a new vacuum cleaner now his old one is ‘on the way out’.

Good to see then, that Miele fans have been providing him with very encouraging suggestions for some of their personal favorites. FluffyEgg advises: “Miele cleaners are the best, I am saving for one, parents have one and it’s  brilliant.” while RazorTongue agrees: “I’ve had a Miele s571 for a long time now and it’s quite possibly one of the best things I’ve ever bought.”High praise indeed!
