Digital Spy contributors recommend Miele

Howardl started the thread Miele Washing Machines on the Digital Spy Forum stating,

“I know they are expensive. Are they worth the extra money? The one I was looking at was £1000.”

The response has been almost entirely positive with Miele users jumping into the thread and passing on how they’ve found the brand. Humdrummer is a Miele fan,

“We got ours as Miele was recommeneded as the best for rinsing clothes, which is a plus for us as we have eczema sufferers in the family. We got a mid-range one and it’s been fab. Not a days bother with it and it’s now two years old. I would get another one.”

And Superluke2 discusses his particular model, the W562

“Bought a Miele W562 3 years ago. Quiet, probably because it’s heavy. Paid £550. A great bit of kit well worth the money. Look around for warranties, we got 5 years from the Miele website.”

Netmum Tara recommends Miele

On the Netmums forum Joanne has had bad experiences with a washer/dryer and is looking for advice on buying a stand alone tumble dryer and Miele has been suggested.

Dorothy has happily offered some general advice on features to look for when buying a dryer, where as Tara has passed on her specific first hand knowledge of Miele,

“I have 5 children and even though I hang my washing out always when its good weather I also have to use my tumble dryer an awful lot for towels, bed linen and other “dryable” clothes and I have a Miele condenser dryer and it as absolutely my best friend (along with my Miele novatronic washing machine!). And although they are expensive new (few 2nd hand ones on eBay lately), I have had mine for a few years and its still fantastic.”

Is it worth paying the extra for your washing machine?

A question often uttered by anxious users looking to buy new washing machine is ‘it worth paying the extra for quality laundry appliances?’ It has been bought up on Scoobynet.com this week, with the answer a fairly resounding (if not unequivocal) yes.

CoffinDodger suggests “Miele if you can afford one, Bosch if you can’t”, with michaelro adding that he “thought the order of quality for white goods was Miele, Siemens then Bosch.” AudiMan warns against buying a cheap machine packed full of options, warning “Moral of the story, don’t judge a book by its cover. And as said above buy a Miele or Bosch, and don’t worry if [it] doesn’t match the other appliances!”

Miele Prestige 6 washing machine – worth the money?

Perfidalbione is on the look out for new washing machines on hotukdeals.com, and “knows Miele are more expensive than other brands although you save afterward with extended warranty and you can argue they build better machines”.

Longbowassassin is quick to open the debate “Great product Miele… Had our washer/dryer more than ten years and still going strong”, Renown adding “you won’t beat these for washing machines”. Kankan is adamant that one should purchase a Miele if the money is available explaining “the Miele are way ahead in terms of quality compared to the competition, exceptionally effective cleaning and they will generally last you around 10-25 years”.

Matedodgy isn’t so sure, commenting “Nice deal for the rich” – but Kingy58 is not only keen to counter the argument, but do so in explicit terms. “Buy a £300 machine and replace it every few years or buy a £500 machine and have something that outlasts 3 cheap machines, to me that’s better value. But you carry on buying the cheap stuff that keeps breaking down, that way the shops won’t run out of quality goods for those of us that want them.”
