Brief encounters - Miele Cat & Dog vacuum cleaner review

Posted by Jack  9 September 2008

With 5 stars granted in each of the four review categories and described as “very powerful and quiet with a real feeling of quality” – the latest review of the Miele Cat & Dog vacuum cleaner over at Dooyoo is one of the best yet!

And while there’s no clue as to where the flamboyantly monikered ‘mrmojorisin04′ got his name, it’s certain that he loves the improvements the Cat & Dog has made in cleaning his home. After lamenting the performance of his previous vacuum he goes on to say of his Miele that it’s “so powerful that nothing is left behind, and works fantastically on both carpet and laminate flooring.”

And of the bag vs. bagless debate, he’s also firmly pinned his colours to one particular Miele-friendly mast, stating “the bagged cylinder really is the best option”. After all, at around £8 for 4 - “bags are very strong synthetic and can be bought pretty reasonably from the Miele website”. As he says in conclusion: “A highly recommended cylinder cleaner.”

Brief encounters - Miele Cat & Dog TT5000 vacuum cleaner review

Posted by Simon  22 August 2008

The Miele Cat & Dog TT5000 is so popular among its owners, that it inspires review after review. This latest testimonial by James Fleming over at Amazon.co.uk is a case in point.

Like S Reynolds and Karen the Viking before him, he forewent a Dyson and “several cheap vacuums” in favour of a Miele. He finds the Cat & Dog effortlessly deals with the mixture of laminate flooring, tiles and carpet in his house, making short work of the hair from his Border Terrier. He describes the vacuum as “…quiet, powerful and moves round as if it were floating! The extra power brush that comes with the Cat & Dog cleaner is truly unbelievable.”

Admitting he isn’t “he sort of person to get excited about a vacuum cleaner”, he nonetheless recommends it whole-heartedly describing it as “…the best!! If you’re thinking £200 is a lot for a vacuum; it is, but if you want an immaculate job done quickly - go for it!”

Best vacuum for mixed flooring?

Posted by Simon  18 August 2008

After years of reliable service sucking up glass, soot and household dust, KB3’s vacuum has finally given up. She’s been looking at the offers around at the moment and is impressed by an £80 saving on a Dyson DC07, however since she has “…hardwood floors downstairs and carpet upstairs”, isn’t sure if the Dyson’s up to the job.

Fellow members of the Hitched Forum have ridden to her rescue with Alison76 suggesting the Miele S5211. Not only does she own one, but points out “I’ve just looked at the Which best buy table and the top 4 were all Miele and there were another 3 or 4 Miele also in the top 20″. She also suggests the S4211 as it”…came out better than the black one I listed, and it’s slightly cheaper too.” Gryfon too also has a Miele which she describes as “fab”.

Worried that cylinder cleaners will give her a bad back and prove troublesome storing, Alison76 once again reassures her: “…It takes less room than our old upright one took. I have a lower back problem and don’t get any aches and pains using it.”

Best vacuum for laminate floors?

Posted by Simon  7 April 2008

Having never bought a vacuum before, Rebecca H of Netmums.com has asked for suggestions for the best bagless cleaner to use on laminate floors.

Both Dyson and Vax receive mixed reviews, with Dyson once again falling short due to snapped hoses and burnt-out motors. Miele on the other hand is recommended by both Anna H and Alison M on the strength of its versatility on all floor surfaces including carpets and tiles while Ali S loves hers for picking up the fur from her two long-haired cats.

What are your suggestions for the best vacuum on a number of surfaces? Have your say in the forum.
