The Miele Fashion Prize Competition

Miele have launched the Miele Fashion Prize competition 2010.

Miele Fashion Prize

The competition gives a chance to those with aspirations of designing a fashionable and creative couture outfit the chance to do so. From The Guardian,

“The annual Miele Fashion Prize competition launched this week at Project Catwalk winner Jasper Garvida’s London Fashion Week show. The German manufacturer, Miele, is challenging UK fashion talent to design an outfit responding to a gentle garment care brief. The winning design will be chosen by a panel of experts including Jasper Garvida, who will personally make the outfit and unveil it at an exclusive event later this year.”

Have you got an idea for a garment to put forward? A style or shape in mind that’ll blow the panel away? If so, all the details you need to enter can be found at the Miele Fashion Prize page. From there you can download the entry form and read the finer details on submitting a design.

Last year’s winner Nathan Jones says of the competition,

“The Miele fashion prize has given me a platform for my work, the resources to realise my design and the added confidence to pursue my goals even more intensely.”

You can see an image of Jasper’s realization of Nathan’s winning black gown modeled by Camilla Dallerup in this Forever Better post thanks to Kit Lee of Style Slicker. There is more information in the press release about the partnership between Jasper and Miele, along with information on the launch of the Miele Fashion Prize at Miele.co.uk.

If you’re interested in entering get in touch as we’d love follow your progress or, if you know someone who might like to enter, share the story by using one of the buttons below.

The Luxe Chronicles interviews Jasper Garvida

The Luxe Chronicles

In the last of our London Fashion Weekend posts, Helene from The Luxe Chronicles talks about Project Catwalk, the Miele Fashion Prize and of course an in-depth interview with Jasper himself.

From Jasper’s background as a fashion student at Central Saint Martin’s, his influences and experience as an in-house designer for Monsoon and Miss Selfridge to his Project Catwalk win and the establishing of his own label, Helene covers all the bases.

It’s certainly an interesting insight into one of the UK’s best up-and-coming designers, so drop by her blog and see for yourself.

The Luxe Chronicles on the Miele Fashion Prize

The Luxe Chronicles

Hot on the stiletto heals of Kate from Make Do And Mend, comes Helene’s post on the Miele Fashion Prize over at The Luxe Chronicles.

In the second of her retrospectives on the events of London Fashion Weekend, she covers the Miele Fashion Prize itself, Miele’s association with the children’s charity Sparks and designer and Project Catwalk winner Jasper Garvida. Like Kate, she too has posted her own shots of the catwalk show which rounded out the day.

Pop over to her blog and see for yourself.

It’s not just washing machines and rose petals that made up Miele’s attendence at London Fashion Weekend and in the final of her three installments, Make Do And Mend’s Kate covers the fashion aspect of Miele’s involvement in the event.

In her post she covers Project Catwalk series 3 winner Jasper Garvida’s announcement of the Miele Fashion Prize, which in conjunction with the children’s charity Sparks will give the lucky winner the chance to design a dress – to be made by Jasper – which will be worn at a charity fashion show in October next year.

She also reminds us – courtesy of some shots of the catwalk show – of this season’s trends for Autumn/Winter 2008. Jump over to her blog to read her full write-up.
