Miele washing machine recommended on MSE

Joannecawthra started a thread asking for advice after her machine broke down. There are plenty of recommendations being discussed, but it is Pegginout who is the real Miele fan,

“I have had 4 washers in 10 years, so decided to invest in a Miele & I can honestly say it is FANTASTIC!

It takes 2 men to move it, it is so solid.”

Poorly Scammo needs a new washing machine

Money Saving Expert (MSE) contributor Poorly Scammo has had a bit of an issue with their washing machine,

“It’s knackered with smoke coming out of it. Guess I’ll need a new one.”

Thankfully though a ‘knackered’ washing machine is no match for the MSE community. The request for recommendations has seen three pages worth of responses; admittedly not all have been helpful, though the majority of posts falling into this category have at least provided a smile. However, the more informative replies have had many brands suggested, but for Munkiemunkie81 and Gunsandbanjos the new machine has to be a Miele,

“I have a Miele and I love it”

Specific vacuum cleaners for pet hair

Teacheranmum is in need of a new vacuum cleaner on the moneysavingexpert.com forum, and wonders if those “specific pet ones are any good”. Especially when it comes to getting all the hair up from laminates and rugs.

Divadee is quick to respond, suggesting “if you can afford it go for the Miele Cat and Dog. I am in the process of saving for one after borrowing my friend’s one. Fantastic machines and lasts years an years”. Takoda agrees, suggesting “another vote for Miele Cat and Dog here. Outstanding cleaner.”

Is Miele the best bet for a money saving expert

Laundry horror stories ahoy on money saving expert and after [another brand]’s washing machine gave up – discussion is rife on the board about what brand would best replace it.

“Recently replaced [other brand] with a Miele washer dryer and it is amazing” says gunsandbanjos, while Cornopean relays that he “took a gamble on a Miele washing machine a couple of years back – so far, so good”. Trumpton has no experience with Miele washing machines but can report “I have a Miele vacuum which is excellent”.

Time to buy a new washing machine – is a Miele the one?

Bad news for CCstar on moneysavingexpert.com as his son wants his washing machine back – leaving the confused forum poster asking all at MSE exactly which models they recommend. Predictably advice is not hard to find either – as 21 replies (and counting) have already been proffered.

Cattie steps in to say that “Miele appliances are said to last 20+yrs, so worth considering if you are looking for long lasting appliances”, while mikeandrach believes “Miele are superb” with the caveat that they don’t have the ‘biggest drums’.  

Last line has to go to CKdesigner though – who clearly knows what he likes, “they [Miele] last 20 years, they wash better than any other washing machine, they are quieter, and more economical. These are indisputable facts. Miele build products without compromise. Something you cannot say about any other manufacturer.”
