Mumsnet recommend Miele washing machines

CharlotteACavatica needs a big drum! The washing machine she is after also needs to be a work horse as it is unlikely to get a day off!

The recommendations have flown in from the Mumsnet community with a host of contributors suggesting Miele is the brand to go for in this scenario. The key phrase from CharlotteACavatica being that the machine must be able to handle ‘…the hardcore wash loads my four kids will throw its way!’

Notapizzaeater has Miele experience,

“I have a Miele and do 2-3 washes EVERY day! Tis fab and came with a 6 yr guarantee, also uses lot less water/electric than any others so cost more in the first place but should pay for itself in savings….”

Zapostrophe seconds the sentiment,

“We have had a Miele for 9 years. It is indestructible. I have two boys with a 21m gap and have been doing a daily nappy wash for the last four and a bit years, plus another wash or two on top. I worship at the foot of Miele (have a diswasher and tumble dryer too). My parents’ Miele washed my clothes when I was at primary school and it’s still going strong now I’m in my early 30s.”

While DrivenToDistraction confirms the last-long-ability of the Miele brand,

“I’ve known three teenage Mieles (MIL’s + 2 in rented houses) that have never needed repairs/spares…”

Miele washing machine recommendations on Mumsnet

Cananybodyhelp is, as the name suggests, in need of help and it’s all to do with a broken washing machine. The cry for assistance is at Mumsnet and is simply asking for recommendations on a washing machine brand that won’t falter like their previous model. Responses have picked Miele as the option to go for,

Emsyj, Horton and Asktheaudience all believe Miele is would be the most suitable choice for Cananybodyhelp,

“Miele miele miele miele miele

10 year guarantee with their machines. Ours is brill. My mum’s got one too and she loves it!”

“I second Miele. They are slightly more expensive than the average machine (think the basic model is about £500) but they will last at least five times as long. An [washing machine] engineer once told me he’d never buy anything but a Miele.”

“Miele are worth the £££.

We had a rubbish one before, heaved it into the dump with huge relief when it died, and splashed on a Miele. It is FAB.”

Mumsnet on Miele appliances

On the good housekeeping section of Mumsnet, ErnestTheBavarian needs to start her kitchen from scratch appliance wise,

“Need brand new everything. If Miele is the best washing machine, what’s the best oven, hob, tumble-dryer, dishwasher – what features do I look out for, what do I avoid…”

Posted only yesterday, the thread has already generated 34 responses all eager to offer advice. MrsJohnDeere and whomovedmychocolate are both advocates for the Miele dishwasher, with the latter stating,

“I have a Miele dishwasher – It is truly a thing of beauty – three racks! Wonderful!”

But when it comes to ovens amidaiwish isn’t taken with Miele, but does suggest the plate warming drawer is “fantastic”. How do you feel about Miele ovens? Agree with MrsJohnDeere and whomovedmychocolate when it comes to Miele dishwashers? Visit the Mumsnet thread to add your thoughts or leave us a comment below.

Would you go back to a bag?

This was the problem facing Mamhaf of the mumsnet community. Needing a replacement for her current and faltering vacuum to combat a moulting dog, the advice she’d be given was to go with a Miele Cat & Dog. The thought of returning to bags however was not, for her, a pleasant thought,

“I hate the thought of going back to the hassle of bags, buying them, checking they’re full/empty etc.”

Fellow contributors Mamaloco and Ixia felt otherwise, both championing the bag system. Ixia specifically recommending the Cat & Dog,

“I have a Miele and love it. It tells you when the bag is full, the bag has a wee tab that you pull to seal it – no mess, no hassle, you can just put it in the kitchen bin.”

To see if this was enough to convince Mamhaf to go back to a bag head through to the full thread.

Miele vs. any other…

A thread on Mumsnet has seen stoppingat3 put the call out for advice on what vacuum she should be purchasing in the wake of her current choice sucking its last suck.

Recommendations for Miele come in from pretty much across the board, notably for the Cat and Dog. BudaBones bought one after having it suggested as good option, “Have had it a month and love it”, and the same goes for CMOTdibbler, “The Miele is fab”.
