Yermum needs a new washing machine
On the Overclockers forum Yermum has asked the community what brand of washing machine to go for. Her current model has died and as someone who ‘hammered it’ twice a day during the week and then four or five times a day over the weekend, the replacement has got to be a ‘workhorse’.
Plenty of people have leapt in to offer their advice and a number have recommended Miele. Mjt admits that Yermum may have to spend a little more than she wants to, but it is worth it for a Miele, especially considering that Mjt’s current machine has been going for 20 years. Philjohn agrees,
“Spend the extra and get a Miele, they are consistently ranked as the very best in most consumer shootouts. I don’t know a single person who has one and is disappointed with it.”
The thread is full of washing machine related debate, which you can read through this link.
Miele up for discussion at overclockers
Teki87 is busy looking at buying a Microwave and vacuum and “just wondering if anyone knows which are good brands?” Sensibly he has turned to the overclockers forum to help him in his quest, and as ever – good advice has been offered in spades.
^TANK^ is short and to the point with his recommendation “Bosch/Miele”, with aa6792 similarly brief “+1” – whilst -Ad- suggests “Will be going for Miele when I get a house, a nice 5/10yr warranty sounds alright”. Ysmalari agrees saying “Indeed, I just got a Miele vacuum cleaner and they are brilliant, practically had to nail the carpet back down after using it for the first time!”
Miele vacuums for under £100 on Overclockers?
There has been plenty of discussion around vacuum cleaners on Overclockers forum over the last few days, and Miele has picked up a number of recommendations to DantheMan’s request for a bagless vacuum under £100. Sherpa suggests “A bit above your budget is the Miele S4211, again bagged but a great machine and Miele quality” – while Angilion warns Dan of his request for bagless models in general, suggesting “You have fuss with filters instead”.
BigT meanwhile is strident in his support for Miele as a brand saying “Miele S380 can be had for £100. I don’t know that much about that specific model but the Miele I have is infinitely better as a vacuum cleaner than any of the [other brands]”. Arknor meanwhile suggests “getting a Miele cat and dog [vacuum] like [his] parents have”. Go and have your say over here, or let us know what you think below.
Miele > Bosch > Everything else
So says jonno.co.uk on the overclockers.co.uk forums, whilst discussing the relative merits of fridge freezers. Evangelion agrees, and has “heard that Miele, Siemens and AEG are all good brands”.
Herojuana agrees too, with family ties clearly particularly influential on his purchasing “My brother owns the family business now which is domestic appliances, and he recommends Miele as one of the best/most reliable manufacturers”. SO much so in fact that Herojuana goes onto say that “in fact, all of [his] kitchen is Miele”.
