The calm before the fashionable storm

Tomorrow evening the Forever Better team and a group of lucky bloggers (and competition winners!) are off to Jasper Garvidas catwalk show, which will be showcasing his 2010 Autumn/Winter collection.

Jasper is a familiar name to many, having won project catwalk in 2008 and previously being employed by a string of well known high street stores to design fashionable clothing for their range.

As many of you may know, Miele are the official sponsors of Jasper Garvida, who appreciates how important good garment care really is!

Here at Forever Better, we’re all feeling quite ecstatic about seeing Jaspers beautiful creations up close, a feeling that is shared by one of our guests, from 40notout, who has written a post detailing how excited she is -

“This is a big deal for a girl like me and just like a certain fellow fashion blogger who has also received some invites and hasn’t told anyone, I was shocked and overwhelmed to actually receive them. It’s the stuff that dreams are made of, well my dreams at least and to say I’m excited would be the understatement of the year!”

Jasper Garvida Competition

It’s your last chance to win some tickets!

Our competition to win one of five pairs of tickets to Jasper Garvida’s London Fashion show courtesy of Miele is coming to an end. We have received some fantastic entries so far, but we are giving you another day to enter. Take a look at the pictures of one of Jasper’s fashion shows for some encouragement!

All you need to do is send us an email telling us why you would like to win a pair of tickets to Jasper’s show.

Don’t forget about the Miele Fashion Prize competition. The winner of which will be working with Jasper to create a dress that will be modeled at an exclusive fashion event during the summer. If that wasn’t enough they’ll also receive £1000 worth of Miele appliances for their home! You can see the dress from last year’s winner here, worn by Camilla Dallerup of Strictly Come Dancing fame. StyleSlicker on a sparkling night…

We have already heard about the ‘Sparks Fashion Show’ in association with Miele via Lola Re, but now is the turn of StyleSlicker, Kit Lee.

Arriving in true style blogger fashion, straight from dressing models backstage, there was just enough time to beautify and slide into a cocktail dress. From there on the evening was nothing but glamour, with Anton Du Beke and Camilla Dallerup of Strictly Come Dancing (Kit Lee’s favourite show) hosting proceedings the night slid by apace.

Kit Lee was able to get some great pictures of the event, including the one below of Ms. Dallerup in the winning dress for the Miele Fashion Prize which was designed by Nathan and made by Jasper Garvida.

Beki tests the Miele S7 vacuum cleaner against popular household carpet stains

Alas poor Beki – for her Miele S7 trial has come to an end, and under her own admissions -- “she *hearts* that cleaner. Two weeks on and the Miele (without changing a bag -- they’re deceptively large) was still sucking like a <too rude a simile>” – crumbs!

So, to display exactly how effective the vacuum has been, she put talc, sugar and rolled oats on a carpet. “I didn’t just sprinkle them on; I stood on them then got down on my hands and knees and worked it in with my fingers”… Could the Miele cope?
