Discussion about the Miele W562 Prestige Plus 6 Washing Machine has proliferated on hotukdeals forum of late, with the vast majority of forum users seeming to agree with anewman who says “don’t make the mistake of buying two lesser machines for £260 each in succession. This will outlast both”.

Which washing machine? Miele or Siemens?

Over at Money Saving Expert Rowbo is “confused” She’s looking for a new washing machine and after reading “reviews of every washing machine in the world” has narrowed it down to a Miele Prestige Plus 6 or Siemens. Trouble is the machines she’s shortlisted are very similar in specification and each comes with a five-year warranty. While the Miele is more expensive she wants to know if the extra outlay is worth it and turned to the experts at MSE for help.

Belfastgirl23, jennifernil, Old Joe and doelani each recommend the Miele. Even though she’s just spend over £100 on replacing the door seal on her Miele, belfastgirl23 describes her machine as “…great and has fantastic functionality and is also pretty energy efficient…”. Old Joe too comments: “Yes Miele is initially expensive, but we’ve had our Miele for fifteen years and have never had to spend a penny on it since”, while doelani has owned a Miele washer, dryer and dishwasher for the last eight years and says: “If anyone of them were to die a death and could not be fixed I would only every replace with Miele again. I used to buy cheap and was replacing every year or two.”

Best Miele machine for the average user?

Money Saving Expert member Globalds’ current washing machine is on its last legs and he’s looking for a replacement.

Although not a heavy user, he’s still looking for a machine which will be used on most days and can handle the laundry of four people. Sponge recommends the W4446 WPS he purchased last year with a ten-year warranty, calling it the “best machine I’ve ever owned”, while sandran recommends the Prestige Plus W525 which he describes as ‘…fantastically quiet” with “…great programmes for my family of four”.

Taff007 further recommends the W3470 admitting that whatever Miele model is bought the “…quality is obvious” and will “…easily put up with the daily grind”.
