Best vacuum for car care?

There has been some vacuum discussion on the Detailing World forum – the largest community of vehicle detailing enthusiasts in Europe. Mr Scisco’s vacuum has ‘given up’ and he is looking for a replacement.

Gaz W provides Miele as the best option for car care, but Mr Scisco, while aware of Miele’s domestic prowess is concerned about the weight of commercial use for detailing. However Gaz W says not to worry,

“Miele copes fine for me, mine is god knows how many years old and still works like new. Only thing it’s ever had are replacement filters and bags when it needs it.”

Have you used a Miele for looking after the interior of your car? Maybe the S4812 Hybrid? If so leave us a comment below.

Jimblejambles needs a new washing machine – is Miele the answer?

Jimblejambles needs a new washing machine, and has heard that ‘Miele are the best’. “However they are a lot of money and [she is] wondering if they are really worth it?” – so put her question directly to mumsnet.com.

Lisabartandmaggie was quick to respond, “Yes – got a not quite middle of the range one, cost about £800 but very pleased with it. Extremely quiet, which is why we bought it”. Therockenholt is pleased thus far too: “we have had one for about a year. It is very quiet, and has a 10 year guarantee”.

Which Miele vacuum cleaner would Mum recommend?

An interesting discussion is occurring over on mumsnet for anyone interested in owning a Miele vacuum cleaner, asking “Which Miele Vacuum cleaner would you recommend?

Flutterbye opens the discussion, suggesting that her recent purchase of the Cat and Dog is ideal for “a hairy husband!” She goes on “[it’s] good on wood/tiled floors and carpets with the turbo brushes.” Janmoomoo agrees adding “Another fan of the Cat and Dog. Excellent”, while countingto10 suggests “I have this and it is great, especially on the carpets for picking up hairs etc.”

Not everyone is in agreement though, and obviously a fan of ‘tayberry red’ CarGirl has opted for the Miele red pearl. “It’s a limited edition and comes with a free 5 year warranty. The difference in cost between the £200 ish models is what heads they come with and whether the power adjustment control is a manual dial that you turn or something electronic.”

Recommend a vaccum cleaner ask tritalk.co.uk

A popular question, and one that regularly populates forums of all description is ‘recommend me a vacuum cleaner’– and after Jellylegs1968 announced that his “Dyson [had] just gone bang” in popular sports forum tritalk.co.uk… The debate was once again on!

As ever, popular choices amongst the four pages of debate included Henry, Sebo and Dyson – with Miele receiving its fair share of praise to boot. Mr Muppet rating the ‘cat and dog’ model a winner with his pets “It’s ace – much better than a dyson and doesn’t get clogged up with long hair.” McTavish agrees, “Another vote for Miele. I have had one for over ten years and it’s still working fantastically well” whilst FoulOleRon suggests that he finds his entry-level Miele’s “suction most pleasing”.

The debate rages on, and with over 50 responses to the question in under a week, perhaps it’s time for you to throw your hat into the ring. Coversation continues here…
