Brief encounters - Miele S4211 vacuum cleaner review part 2

Posted by Jack  10 December 2008

Back in September we covered bazz2004’s review of the Miele S4211 vacuum cleaner over at the Review Centre. Fast forward two and a half months and jugglingtamarin has written a short, but sweet review of his own.

Giving the S4211 the Review Centre ‘thumbs-up’ and awarding it 10/10, he made sure he asked his friends and family, all of whom own Mieles of their own, for their recommendations before buying and hasn’t been disappointed with his choice: “Fantastic cleaning! Bag is very easy to change…very light and easy to carry around” and “So, so much better than the dyson I had before”. His only problem being that “it’s more expensive than any hoover I’m had before but it’s worth it”.

To read his review in his own words pop over to the Review Centre and add a comment if you find it useful.

“Well made and very powerful” is how bazz2004 opens his review of the S4211 vacuum cleaner over at the Review Centre. Awarding the cleaner 9 out of 10 across all categories for ease of use, durability, style, service and value for money, overall he gives it the Review Centre ‘thumbs-up’.

Describing the S4211 as “technologically advanced” and has a “noise level [that] is quite acceptable” he finds the telescopic tubing provides more flexibility than the fixed lengths on cheaper machines. While he laments the lack of tool storage - although he does admit “this cuts down size and weight” - the cost of replacement bags is his only other downside. His conclusion and final word of advice: “you get value for money with this Miele S4211…Buy a Miele with confidence but shop around as prices vary considerably.”

Best vacuum for a wedding present?

Posted by Jack  15 September 2008

It may fall a little way behind the catering arrangements, honeymoon and consummation where marriage is concerned, but when the weeping relatives and confetti are gone, it’s probably time to think about which vacuum is best suited to keeping one’s love nest clean and tidy. After all, with an “uncle offering one as a wedding present” money should certainly be no object?

And it’s the Miele S4211 vacuum which receives the first recommendation over at the Hitched Forum, with KB3 keen to let everyone know exactly how well it’s done for her. “I’ve used it loads since we bought it, it takes some getting used to as our old hoover was an upright but the suction is fab, it’s tiny yet can do a 3 bed house no problem, carpet & hardfloor…”

Sah and MD each describe their Miele as “fab”, while Lady Gooner has been swept off her feet by the “wonderful suction, the attachments are great and the carpets look like new”.

All of which leaves the bride-to-be to reasonably summise: “Thanks all. So Miele/Henry clear winners so far. I think Miele looks smaller so maybe easier to store in our limited space”. A good shout indeed – oh, and good luck on the big day!

Short, but sweet. That’s Ross Maccabee’s review of the Miele S4211 vacuum cleaner on Amazon.

Choosing the S4211 “on the strength of my parents 20 year old Miele never going wrong”, Miele’s reputation for longevity is a theme we come across frequently on Forever Better and is often said about the entire product range.

Like all savvy-shoppers he also backed up his decision with plenty of online research, including a Which? recommendation that “sealed the deal”. He likes the suction as “It picks up everything - is nicely adjustable to do rugs etc.” and is most impressed by “the noise - or lack of it.”

Two earlier reviews of the S4211 also backup Ross’ testimony. Hop over to Amazon.co.uk to get the low-down.

Another happy Miele convert

Obvious Smiths fan bigmouthstrikesagain over at the Mumsnet discussion boards has just purchased a Miele Cat & Dog TT5000 after asking for recommendations to replace her aging Dyson, which by her own admission is “…held together with masking tape” and in need of “…expensive replacement parts.”

After checking out the Which? best buys and finding Miele the clear winner her only reservation was the bagged vs bagless debate, which thanks to community members such as JFly whose description of her S4211 as “…the compact lightweight nature of it will make up for the occassional hassle of the bags” and ILikeToMoveItMoveIt ’s “…so much lighter than the Dyson. I found the Dyson stupidly heavy and found it a right pain on the stairs.” she ultimately ordered the Cat & Dog and after using it for the first time was so impressed by it reported her findings back to the Mumsnet members: “I think I am in love! I have never seen my stairs looking so… hoovered - amazing…”

Brief encounters: Miele S571 vacuum cleaner review

Posted by Matt  19 June 2008

Guide for Household Appliances and good friend to Forever Better Nar has posted another Miele write-up on Dooyoo, this time an extensive review of Miele S571 vacuum cleaner.

You may recall a previous review of his on the S360 from back in April and this one is no less in-depth. In his latest analysis he writes that second-hand Miele appliances can be difficult to come by as being so durable they should last 20 years or more. Despite being an older model the S571 is very quiet even at its most powerful setting and still compares favourably with more recent appliances.
