MSE – Which vacuum to buy?
‘Which vacuum to buy?’ It’s the question that JJDaisy has asked the Money Saving Expert community. Despite wanting bagless the recommendations have come in for Miele and other bagged brands.
“My vote goes to Miele bagged 2200w vacuums they’re bloody good.”
That is the opinion of Moneysava_WannaB. Sucker for Sweeties and Okeydokey concur starting,
“I LOVE love love my Miele, and their service is the best I’ve ever experienced [...]”
And,
“Me too! Miele products always do a fantastic job and never ever go wrong. They may look more expensive when comparing headline prices but they’re the most reliable and do the best job of any vacuum cleaners I’ve used, so ultimately they’re excellent value in the long run.”

UK Whitegoods talk kitchen refit…
Johelian is having a kitchen refit and has leapt onto the UK Whitegoods forum to ask for advice. Seeing as they intend to upgrade all their appliances the question is should they go with their first choice of Miele products despite the price?
Don, a UK Whitegoods moderater has responded with the following,
“Miele have a good reputation and track record for producing top quality appliances, hence why washing machines start around the £700 mark. Guarantees can range from five years to ten depending on appliance purchased.
The real issues are the extremely high price of spare parts and the lack of knowledge available to the service sector unless you are a Miele service agent of course.”
Do you agree with Don, would you recommend Miele? Leave your comments below. Or why not join in the UK Whitegoods thread.
Digital Spy contributors recommend Miele
Howardl started the thread Miele Washing Machines on the Digital Spy Forum stating,
“I know they are expensive. Are they worth the extra money? The one I was looking at was £1000.”
The response has been almost entirely positive with Miele users jumping into the thread and passing on how they’ve found the brand. Humdrummer is a Miele fan,
“We got ours as Miele was recommeneded as the best for rinsing clothes, which is a plus for us as we have eczema sufferers in the family. We got a mid-range one and it’s been fab. Not a days bother with it and it’s now two years old. I would get another one.”
And Superluke2 discusses his particular model, the W562
“Bought a Miele W562 3 years ago. Quiet, probably because it’s heavy. Paid £550. A great bit of kit well worth the money. Look around for warranties, we got 5 years from the Miele website.”
There’s loads of Miele conversation on the thread, including discussion on their service division. Click through to read it all or leave your own thoughts.
Miele washing machines recommended at Google groups
In the Google group uk.d-i-y Graham has asked for washing machine recommendations and there has already been 17 replies offering advice. Among these are numerous mentions of Miele, such as Tim W’s straight-forward suggestion,
“Miele if you want to last by itself and do its job exceedingly well (I have a washing machine).”
Another early contributor is dom@gglz.com who states,
“Miele. Mine came with a free, manufacturer’s 10 year warranty – i.e you phone the Miele service centre, and the Miele bloke in the Miele van comes round your gaff and fixes it – and no bill.”
The entire thread of conversation can be found here. It is particularly useful if you’re in the market for a new machine, and there is also a funny story about a cat…
Volkszone user needs a spare part…
Understandably you may think that the request for a spare part in the Volkszone forum would be required to repair an old Beetle – not so, in this case at least. North_Manchester needs a part for his Miele dishwasher,
Jumping straight into help are a number of fellow contributors, among whom is Nippyhippy offering Miele as a good port of call for help,
“Try Miele themselves, they’re fantastic for aftersales service.”
