Lola Re at the Sparks and Miele charity fashion show

Lola Re from Of Fashion and Beauty has posted on the charity fashion show that she attended on Friday, which was hosted by Sparks UK, the children’s medical research charity, and Miele.

As well as getting to reacquaint herself with “the masterminds behind StyleSlicker and DressedandPressed”, Lola Re also got to have a chat with Sparks’ co-presidents Gabby and Kenny Logan. From there, the evening progressed with much joviality amidst a charity auction and catwalk show. The evening also saw the announcement of the winner of the Miele Fashion Prize!

The Of Fashion and Beauty post is full of images covering all the above, and for my final words I’ll defer to Lola Re,

“The night was a great success, and we managed to raise over £40,000 for charity. Now that’s stylish!”

Following the Sparks Fashion Show on Twitter

One of the best, and most voyeuristic, things about Twitter – is the ability to follow people’s entire nights through the micro blogging network. And there are few better examples of this (as anyone following her would testify to) than Kit Lee’s Twitter feed from last nights Sparks charity fashion show event.

It started well with the seating plan as she revealed “at Sparks charity event, sitting next to DressedandPressed blogger”, as well as next to my table is Gabby and Kenny Logan.” And from then on, the silent auction really caught the eye. “Silent auction…How fun! I’m eyeing on Liscio mobile phone”.

From then on, details were hazy, with one only guessing that it all got rather frenzied. “back home exhausted after a full day fashion show with client at SKETCH, dress up at Sparks charity event in association with Miele”. More details next week.

The Luxe Chronicles on the Miele Fashion Prize

The Luxe Chronicles

Hot on the stiletto heals of Kate from Make Do And Mend, comes Helene’s post on the Miele Fashion Prize over at The Luxe Chronicles.

In the second of her retrospectives on the events of London Fashion Weekend, she covers the Miele Fashion Prize itself, Miele’s association with the children’s charity Sparks and designer and Project Catwalk winner Jasper Garvida. Like Kate, she too has posted her own shots of the catwalk show which rounded out the day.

Pop over to her blog and see for yourself.

Jasper Garvida and the Miele Fashion Prize

Jasper Garvida - Miele Fashion Prize

It’s not just washing machines and rose petals that made up Miele’s attendence at London Fashion Weekend and in the final of her three installments, Make Do And Mend’s Kate covers the fashion aspect of Miele’s involvement in the event.

In her post she covers Project Catwalk series 3 winner Jasper Garvida’s announcement of the Miele Fashion Prize, which in conjunction with the children’s charity Sparks will give the lucky winner the chance to design a dress – to be made by Jasper – which will be worn at a charity fashion show in October next year.

She also reminds us – courtesy of some shots of the catwalk show – of this season’s trends for Autumn/Winter 2008. Jump over to her blog to read her full write-up.
