Jasper Garvida’s LFW show – more updates

Monday we had posts and tweets a-plenty from the guys we took along to Jasper Garvida’s London Fashion Week Show. Among them were Style Slicker, Fashion Slant, Park & Cube and Diamond Canopy who especially loved the front row seats Miele provided,

“I can’t believe we were given front row, it was amazing. It might never happen again so I definitely didn’t take it for granted. […] I was quite impressed by [Jasper’s] newest collection. I really loved the twenties theme, art deco prints and the make up.”

As you can from the photo; certainly making the most of her prime position.

Vanity Fashionista and Everything Cherry Chan108 have both posted on their experiences too. Vicky of Vanity Fashionista was a competition winner who, although not overly familiar with Jasper’s work, was eager to attend a fashion week show. And now she has, as well as getting her self right up to date with JG’s A/W 2010 collection,

“The collection, the catwalk show, Jasper Garvida was AMAZING! I loved every single one of his pieces.”

There are a selection of pictures from the show in her post, only a slection mind as Vicky did confess to taking a shot of every single outfit! She also managed to snap a picture of Beverly Knight and Liz McClarnon (she also spotted Sophie Anderton). The celeb attendees were also spotted by Cherry of Cherry Chan108 who also took a picture.

Being a fan of Jasper’s work Cherry expected to have a good time, but was surprised by just how much of a good time,

“I feel like everything was on point; the music, the models, their walks, the timing, the atmosphere and I was particularly touched when Jasper came out at the end for his final bow. My first cat walk experience was extremely satisfying.”

We’re really pleased everyone enjoyed it so much :). If you’d like to get involved more with Miele and Forever Better, then don’t hesitate to get in touch with Claire [@] ForeverBetter.co.uk.

Jasper Garvida’s LFW show - we were there!

Yes, Forever Better was dressed to impress and in attendance for Jasper Garvida’s London Fashion Week catwalk show. And we were not alone; we’d got bloggers and competition winners with us, all of whom were eager to enjoy the show.

Kit Lee of Style Slicker covered the event and illustrated it with photos (see below) that, dare I say it, challenge the efforts of our very own Roxy ;).

Twitter saw her herald the day as ‘fantastic’, along with showing off her ‘very handy’ freebie, and she wasn’t alone in getting involved with the micro-blogging. Winnie of Diamondcanopy loved being on the front row with Park and Cube’s Shini, who also tweeted this little gem of an image via twitgoo.

Also with us were Fashion Slant (who noted shoulders are back), Chic in Town and Cherry Chan108, so keep your style hungry eyes in their direction for more of Jasper’s work.

Finally though, I’m going to point you in the direction of the delightful 40 Not Out, who loved the experience – before, during and after,

“Am still high on the Jasper Garvida show. I love fashion. That is all.”

We concur.

Anne tries out Miele’s kitchen

Anne of Anne’s Kitchen joined with other bloggers last Saturday to head to Miele HQ and the Abingdon Experience Centre.

We’ve already featured updates from Susanna (A Modern Mother), Robin (Source it, Cook it, Eat it) and Bron (Feast with Bron), who got hands on with the induction heated wok along with Anne – it was a minor revelation,

“Using the special induction wok (the counter is specially moulded around the wok!) we cooked a chicken stir-fry, I was impressed by the small amount of oil needed as everything cooked perfectly (with the lovely Bron tending too! See below…) without any burning, I’ve not had any luck with Wok cooking, having burned my way through about 5 now I’ve all but given up!”

However, it is the variety of the kitchen styles Miele offer that really impressed Anne,

“I’m amazed how many options there are and how they come up with possibly everything you could think of, and a little more!”

If you’d like to read more on how Anne found the day visit her post Miele HQ and Kitchen Envy.

StyleSlicker on a sparkling night…

We have already heard about the ‘Sparks Fashion Show’ in association with Miele via Lola Re, but now is the turn of StyleSlicker, Kit Lee.

Arriving in true style blogger fashion, straight from dressing models backstage, there was just enough time to beautify and slide into a cocktail dress. From there on the evening was nothing but glamour, with Anton Du Beke and Camilla Dallerup of Strictly Come Dancing (Kit Lee’s favourite show) hosting proceedings the night slid by apace.

Kit Lee was able to get some great pictures of the event, including the one below of Ms. Dallerup in the winning dress for the Miele Fashion Prize which was designed by Nathan and made by Jasper Garvida.

For all the photos and thoughts of Kit Lee head to the full StyleSlicker post.

Brief encounters - Miele S5210 vacuum cleaner review

There’s been a trend in recent years which means many vacuum cleaners are designed to be a triumph of style over substance and this is reflected in this latest review for the Miele S5210 vacuum over at the Review Centre.

The anonymous ‘Guest’ reviewer thinks so too in their choice of the S5210 which they describe as “unassuming”. While not designed to make you “think funky thoughts about space ships or fwuffy kittens or something, its look just says ‘I’m going to pick the dust and dirt off your floor quickly and easily for the next 20 years’” which is something owners say frequently about Miele appliances.

Awarding the S5210 10/10 across the board and a 9/10 for style, the reviewer writes it “oozes quality…the hoses clip together positively, the accessories are all tightly engineered heavyweight plastics, and even the cable feels stronger and more flexible than most peers”. They think this build quality comes at a price though as they comment that “it weighs a fraction more than some others and well, it’s not what you’d call cheap”.

To read their thoughts in their entirety pop over to the Review Centre and if you find it useful, why not leave a comment.
