Miele vs. any other…

A thread on Mumsnet has seen stoppingat3 put the call out for advice on what vacuum she should be purchasing in the wake of her current choice sucking its last suck.

Recommendations for Miele come in from pretty much across the board, notably for the Cat and Dog. BudaBones bought one after having it suggested as good option, “Have had it a month and love it”, and the same goes for CMOTdibbler, “The Miele is fab”.

Miele Cat & Dog Vacuum changes lives on mumsnet!

The Miele Cat & Dog Vacuum has been brought up yet again on mumsnet, and has pulled up an interesting discussion point – namely the turbo head and whether it should be used on laminate flooring.

Reading the responses, the answer seems to be no, but steamedtreaclesponge has come up with an answer – assuring one that “they provide another head when you buy it for doing hard floors, as well as various other attachments for doing the furniture etc. Get one they are great!” MissisBoot concurs “OMG - I’ve just got it home and it’s amazing - I’ve never seen my carpets so clean. I’m normally such a slattern but this may change my life.”

Mums chose the Miele Cat & Dog?

Yesterday it was mumsnet, today we’re across to netmums who are having an in-depth discussion about vacuum recommendations

Cath H(20) is quick to point out that she has “a Miele cat and dog cylinder and this is absolutely fantastic, plus the customer service is brilliant too.” Debra h(3) has a Miele Cat & Dog too and “can second what Cath says. Brill vacuum, bit expensive but worth every penny I have had every hover there is and this beats all of them”.

Karen O(85) “agree(s) with the other Miele fans - we have had a Miele cylinder for 2 years now and its going strong” leaving Jemma B(20) with the result that “it’s sounding like Miele is the popular one”. Follow the conversation over here.

Miele S7 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in discussion at pistonheads.com

Difficult times for CatherineJ on pistonheads.com, who has had problems with her vacuum cleaner recently (we won’t mention which brand) “So [she] suspects that it will be time for a new vacuum. A new Animal is £300, but for the same amount of pennies we can get the new Miele upright S7 Cat & Dog” - and it seems that the forum posters are, on the whole in favour of the latter.

Mph999 says he “Had a Miele s300 for 8 years, no issues … My mums had hers for about 15 years (I think), no issues. Get one…” while NiceCupOfTea agrees “We have a Miele Cat&Dog TT5000 and it’s far better then our old Dyson DC01”. Schmales reports on his neighbours reaction to borrowing a Miele for the day - “they were admiring their new new Miele after a quick trip to the local electrical place.”

All of which led the originator of the post with only two options in here eyes. Try to repair her original vacuum and “if we can’t then it will get binned and we will buy the Miele”. Join the conversation over here.

Which Miele vacuum cleaner would Mum recommend?

An interesting discussion is occurring over on mumsnet for anyone interested in owning a Miele vacuum cleaner, asking “Which Miele Vacuum cleaner would you recommend?

Flutterbye opens the discussion, suggesting that her recent purchase of the Cat and Dog is ideal for “a hairy husband!” She goes on “[it’s] good on wood/tiled floors and carpets with the turbo brushes.” Janmoomoo agrees adding “Another fan of the Cat and Dog. Excellent”, while countingto10 suggests “I have this and it is great, especially on the carpets for picking up hairs etc.”

Not everyone is in agreement though, and obviously a fan of ‘tayberry red’ CarGirl has opted for the Miele red pearl. “It’s a limited edition and comes with a free 5 year warranty. The difference in cost between the £200 ish models is what heads they come with and whether the power adjustment control is a manual dial that you turn or something electronic.”
